Versatile Records' 15 years anniversary: one compilation, one party and one mixtape

One of my favorite Parisian labels, Versatile Records (Chateau Flight, I:Cube, Joakim, Etienne Jaumet, Zombie Zombie, etc...) founded by Gilbert Cohen aka Gilb’R is celebrating its 15 years.

For this occasion, the label decides to:

- release a compilation I really love, which, like a teenager, contemplates the golden age of childhood (the classics ‘Venus (Sunshine People)’ by Cheek, I:Cube‘s ‘Disco Cubizm (Daft Punk Remix)’ or also Joakim’s ‘Fantômes’), gets into present without any complex (from The Big Crunch Theory pop side to the Aladdin new wave, going through contemporary house with Argy or Roots Panorama aka Deetron & Ripperton, indie sound with Zombie Zombie covering John Carpenter, I:Cube venturing into Dubstep field with ‘Un Dimanche Sans Fin’…) and into the future with confidence as evidenced by the exclusive tracks ‘Satori‘ by Etienne Jaumet and I:Cube‘s ‘Lucifer En Discothèque‘.

- organize this Saturday a huge party at La Machine Du Moulin Rouge in Paris dedicated to DJ Medhi with an incredible line up, featuring its own crew (I:Cube, Aladdin, Gilb'r , Zombie Zombie and Joakim) as well as great dj’s such as Daniele Baldelli, Todd Terje, Bertrand Burgalat, Busy P, Dixon, Cosmo Vitelli etc... The party will be broadcasted live on Redbull Music Academy Radio. THE PLACE TO BE!!!

- release a mixtape made by Gilb’r with music that had never been released. Some unreleased material from I:Cube and Chateau Flight, a preview of what we should expect from Zombie Zombie next album, a John Cravache track (extra terrestrial french song) and much more.
